Class Descriptions

As you are choosing the right class for your dancer, please don't hesitate to contact our office with any questions you may have. We are happy to help and we want your dancers in the best class possible!

Wanting to take multiple classes? No problem! Our tuition rates are based on the total amount of dance instruction time per week/per dancer- helping you stay active and expanding your dance knowledge!

Parent and Me: 18 months - 3 years

This fun and interactive class is just what you and your child need every week to bond and exercise! Each week we will have a fun theme, be creative, and explore together! Ballet, fun movements, and tumbling will be featured in this parent/child class.

*Although it is called 'parent and me', we welcome grandparents, aunts, uncles, and caregivers to attend class with their little one too!

*This class does not participate in our Spring recital.

Dance class attire: clothes you can move in easily, barefoot or tennis shoes

Creative Movement: Ages 2 1/2 - 3 years

Let your little one explore the joy of dance and movement in our Creative Movement & Tumble class! Designed for ages 2-3, this fun-filled class combines basic dance concepts with beginner tumbling skills to build coordination, strength, and confidence.

Through imaginative play, music, and props, dancers will develop motor skills, balance, and rhythm while twirling, jumping, and rolling. Simple tumbling exercises such as forward rolls, animal walks, and balance work will enhance body awareness and flexibility in a safe, supportive environment.

This class is perfect for toddlers who love to move, explore, and express themselves. Join us for an exciting introduction to dance and tumbling!

Dancers must be fully potty trained and a parent must wait in the lobby during class.

Ballet, Tap, and Tumble: Ages 3-4

Students will learn the fundamentals of dance through creative and exciting lessons. This class lays the groundwork for future dance study by introducing basic skills and concepts. 

Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes. Teaching aids such as hula-hoops, bean bags, mats, balance beams, etc will be used to help dancers have a fun and memorable time!

Dancers must be fully potty trained to attend this class.

Ballet and Tumble: Ages 3-4

This combination class is NEW for our 2025 season! This class will meet on Fridays from 4:45-5:15 and include both ballet fundamentals as well as tumbling technique.

Ballet, Tap, and Tumble: Ages 4-5 PREK LEVEL

This level will benefit those dancers with a late birthday or who can use an extra stepping stone before entering the Kindergarten Class. Students will continue learning the fundamentals of dance through creative and exciting lessons. This class lays the groundwork for future dance study by introducing basic skills and concepts. 

Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes. Teaching aids such as hula-hoops, bean bags, mats, balance beams, etc will be used to help dancers have a fun and memorable time!

Dancers should be planning to enroll in Kindergarten in the fall of 2026 to attend the class.

Ballet, Jazz, and Tumble: Ages 5-9

This class includes ballet, jazz, and tumble. Dancers will learn terms and technique in all three genres! This class is only offered on Saturday mornings from 10:45-11:30AM and is a great option for working parents.

Hip-Hop and Tumble: Ages 5-9 and Ages 5-7 and Ages 9-12

Get ready to move, groove, and flip in our Hip Hop & Tumble class! This high-energy class combines the dynamic moves of hip hop with beginner tumbling skills for an exciting and engaging experience.

Dancers will learn age-appropriate hip hop choreography, footwork, and freestyle techniques while also developing strength, flexibility, and coordination through tumbling drills such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and more. With upbeat music and a fun, supportive atmosphere, students will build confidence, body awareness, and performance skills.

Perfect for kids who love to dance, jump, and express themselves, this class is a great way to develop both dance and acrobatic skills in a fun and encouraging environment!

Ballet, Tap, and Tumble: Ages 5-7 (Kindergarten/First Grade)

This is a 45 minute class that meets once a week. A continuation of skills in both ballet and tap are taught. Tumbling and basic introduction to jazz are incorporated into the curriculum. Routines in ballet and tap become more complex for the spring recital as their skills progress. The students continue to master and fine-tune their basics.

Teaching aids such as mats, balance beams, bean bags, hula-hoops, etc. will be used for this level as well.

Dancers should be entering Kindergarten or First grade in the fall of 2025 to enroll in this class.

Ballet, Jazz, and Tap: Ages 7-9 (Second/Third Grade)

This is a once a week, 1 hour class including ballet, jazz, and tap. Continuation of skills in ballet and tap are taught as well as basic beginning skills in jazz. Students continue to take a more mature and disciplined attitude toward their dance. With the additional time in this class, dancers will continue to expand their knowledge. This is a faster moving class with emphasis on progressing skills and confidence!

Like all classes, popular and CLEAN music will be used during class.

(Jazz shoes ARE NOT required for this class- we will wear ballet shoes for the jazz portion.​

Jazz and Hip-Hop: Ages 4-6, Ages 6-8, and 9-12

This class is a great alternative for dancers who might be more interested in a more upbeat dance class! This is a fun and active class focusing on body coordination and control to faster tempo music.

Popular, clean music is always used as well as tasteful movement. Jazz technique and progression is also taught. Class length is 45 minutes and meets once a week.

Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Tumble: Ages 5-9

Get ready to move, groove, and flip in our exciting Jazz, Hip-Hop & Tumble Combo class! Designed for ages 5-9, this high-energy class blends three dynamic styles to build strength, coordination, and confidence.

Dancers will learn the technique and expressive movement of jazz, the rhythm and freestyle fun of hip-hop, and the strength and flexibility of tumbling. Skills such as leaps, turns, footwork, rolls, bridges, and beginner acrobatics will be introduced in a fun and encouraging environment.

Perfect for kids who love to dance and move, this class helps develop coordination, musicality, and performance skills while having a blast!

Ballet, Jazz, and Tap: Ages 9-11 (Fourth/Fifth Grade)

This is a once a week, 1 hour and 15 minute class including ballet, jazz, and tap. Continuation of skills in ballet and tap are taught as well as basic beginning skills in jazz. Students continue to take a more mature and disciplined attitude toward their dance. With the additional time in this class, dancers will continue to expand their knowledge. This is a faster moving class with emphasis on progressing skills and confidence!

Like all classes, popular and CLEAN music will be used during class.

Instructor Approval is needed to join this extended level class.

Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip-Hop: Ages 12+

Perfect for homeschool families, this Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Hip-Hop Combo class offers a fun and engaging way for dancers to develop technique, musicality, and confidence in four exciting dance styles!

Students will start with the grace and discipline of ballet, move into the energetic leaps and turns of jazz, and finish with the dynamic moves and freestyle expression of hip-hop. This well-rounded class encourages creativity, coordination, and a love for movement in a positive and supportive environment.

Designed to fit into a homeschool schedule, this daytime class provides a great opportunity for physical activity, social interaction, and artistic expression.

Jazz and Tap: Ages 11-14 (Middle School)

This Jazz & Tap Combo class is perfect for middle school dancers looking to build technique, rhythm, and performance skills in two exciting styles!

The class begins with a jazz warm-up focusing on flexibility, strength, and musicality before moving into dynamic across-the-floor progressions and choreography. In the tap portion, dancers will develop precision, coordination, and speed as they explore intricate footwork and rhythmic combinations.

With a mix of classic and contemporary styles, this high-energy class helps dancers refine their technique, improve stage presence, and gain confidence in both jazz and tap. Whether you’re new to dance or looking to strengthen your skills, this class is a fun and engaging way to grow as a performer!

Ballet: Ages 11-14 (Middle School)

Perfect for dancers looking to strengthen their technique, Middle School Ballet provides a strong foundation in classical ballet while complementing other dance styles. In this 30-minute class, students will focus on posture, alignment, flexibility, and control through barre work, center exercises, and graceful movement combinations.

This class is an excellent addition to our Middle School Jazz & Tap Combo or Middle School Jazz & Hip-Hop Combo, helping dancers refine their technique, improve balance, and enhance overall performance quality. Whether taken as a standalone class or alongside another style, ballet is key to building strength, artistry, and confidence in every dancer.​

Jazz/Hip-Hop: Ages 11-14 (Middle School)​

In this class we teach jazz technique along with popular hip-hop moves. It also gives the dancer knowledge in coordination, physical strength and promotes self-confidence. Choreography is challenging, but most importantly FUN! A great way to exercise while learning proper jazz technique and gaining flexibility. This class is 45 minutes long and meets once a week.

Jazz, Hip-Hop and Tap: Ages 14-18 (High School)

This fast-paced, high-energy class is perfect for high school dancers looking to expand their versatility and refine their technique in three dynamic dance styles: hip hop, tap, and jazz.

Each class begins with a warm-up focusing on strength, flexibility, and musicality before diving into each style. Dancers will explore the rhythmic footwork and precision of tap, the expressive and technical elements of jazz, and the powerful, dynamic movements of hip hop. With an emphasis on performance quality, style, and confidence, this class will challenge and inspire dancers to push their boundaries while having a great time.

Perfect for dancers of all levels, this class is a great way to sharpen skills, stay active, and develop artistry across multiple styles in a fun and supportive environment!

Contemporary: Ages 7-12 and 13+ (Middle and High School)

Explore the beauty of movement and expression in our Contemporary Dance class! Two age groups available: 7-12 and 13+, this class blends elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance to create fluid, expressive choreography that tells a story through movement.​

Dancers will develop strength, flexibility, and coordination while learning floor work, improvisation, and dynamic combinations. With a focus on musicality, emotional expression, and technique, students will gain confidence and artistry in a supportive and creative environment.

Perfect for young dancers who love to move freely and express themselves, this class encourages creativity and individuality while building a strong foundation in contemporary dance!

Musical Theatre: Ages 5+

Step into the spotlight with our Musical Theatre Dance class! Designed for performers ages 5-18, this high-energy class blends jazz, ballet, and theatrical storytelling to bring Broadway-style choreography to life. Students will learn fundamental dance techniques, stage presence, and expressive movement while performing to songs from classic and contemporary musicals.

Each class focuses on building confidence, coordination, and musicality through warm-ups, across-the-floor exercises, and dynamic combinations. Whether your child is a beginner or an experienced dancer, they will develop their performance skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Pre-Pointe: Ages 12+​

Designed for dedicated ballet dancers preparing for pointe work, Pre-Pointe focuses on building the strength, alignment, and technique necessary for safe and successful pointe training. This class emphasizes foot and ankle conditioning, core stability, balance, and proper ballet placement through targeted exercises at the barre and in the center.

Students will work on developing the strength and control required for pointe readiness while refining their overall ballet technique. Instructor approval is required to ensure dancers are physically prepared for the demands of pointe work.

This class is a crucial step for dancers aspiring to advance to pointe shoes and is highly recommended for those looking to deepen their ballet training!​​

Tumble and Cheerleading Classes

Cheer and Tumble Combination Classes:

Bring your spirit and energy to our Cheer & Tumble Program, where athletes will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading, tumbling, and pom-pom routines in a fun and high-energy environment! This progressive program is designed to help students build confidence, strength, and technique while mastering key cheerleading skills, including cheers, chants, motions, jumps, stunts, and tumbling.

 

With four levels, students will continue to grow in this program for many years!

• Ages 5-8– Introduction to basic cheer motions, simple chants, beginner jumps, and basic tumbling (forward rolls, cartwheels, bridges).

• Intermediate– Builds on fundamentals with sharper motions, stronger jumps, and intermediate tumbling (handstands, backbends, kickovers).

• Intermediate Level 2– Focuses on advanced cheer techniques, more complex pom-pom routines, and stronger tumbling skills (round-offs, back walkovers, dive rolls).

• Advanced– Designed for experienced cheerleaders, incorporating powerful motions, elite jumps, and advanced tumbling (back handsprings, aerials, and combination passes).

 

Each class includes a mix of cheerleading drills, tumbling progressions, and dynamic pom-pom routines, helping students develop teamwork, coordination, and performance skills. Whether your child is new to cheer or looking to take their skills to the next level, this program is perfect for building confidence and spirit!

Preschool Tumbling: Ages 3-5

Let your little one roll, jump, and tumble in our Preschool Tumbling class! Designed for ages 3-5, this fun and engaging class introduces the fundamentals of tumbling in a safe and supportive environment.

Students will develop strength, coordination, and flexibility while learning basic skills such as forward rolls, backward rolls, bear crawls, bridges, and beginner balance work. Using obstacle courses, creative movement, and playful activities, this class helps build body awareness, confidence, and a love for movement.

Perfect for active preschoolers, this class encourages skill development in a fun and energetic setting while fostering social skills and independence!

Level 1 Tumbling: Ages 5-6

In this level, students will work on flexibility, strengthening, drills, and more! Skills will include but not limited to forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, bridges, and jumps.

Level 2 Tumbling:  Ages 6+

In this level students will continue to work on flexibility and conditioning drills. Skills will include but not limited to backbends, kickovers, roundoffs, handstand/forward rolls, walkovers and more.

​

Advanced Tumbling: Ages 9+

Instructor approval is required for this level of tumbling. Students will continue to progress as they work on handsprings, back handsprings, tucks, ariels, combinations and more!

Performance Troupe and Competitive Dance Team

WHAT IS THE PERFORMANCE TROUPE?

Our Performance Troupe performs at various community events throughout the year and also performs a routine in the annual spring recital! We simply love to bring joy to the community and enjoy performing more often than just the annual recital. For more information, please reach out to our studio office!

WHAT IS THE COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAM?

We are excited to start a competition team this upcoming season. First and foremost, we want you to understand that ALL of our KDC dancers are valued the same, and being a part of the competition team does not change that. The participating dancers in our competition dance team are seeking more of a challenge for themselves and simply want to compete with dance. For more information, please contact our studio office.
